As I began to celebrate and be excited that my oldest daughter was returning home from spending part of the summer with her mom in Florida. It got me thinking about how much a like we are and a common phrase that is said to her. “Fix Your Face”. Among looking very similar to each other, acting similar with humor, or also having the same type of emotional temperament, we also have similarities in our face.
So, what do I mean by “Fix your face”. Well, she is notorious for having a well-suited resting “B” face. She is constantly being asked if something is wrong or if she’s upset. Her answer is always that she is fine, or nothing is wrong. Which is usually followed up by the fix your face comment. However, it got me thinking about things and these similarities.
In my most recent relationship I was asked what seemed like regularly if something is wrong because of my face. Or my face would change when something upset me, and she could tell it upset me by my face. I should’ve taken my own advice and fixed my face. I guess some wear their hearts on their sleeves well I wear my emotions on my face. I have learned that my face can say a lot of things without saying anything. As I’m finishing this up, I’m not quite sure the purpose of this blog post other than I find it funny that my oldest and I are even more similar than I let on too.
